Superior Vault Company Ltd.

What's Happening:

  • Winter 2020 Update

    January 16, 2020
You may be seeing some new faces out there representing Superior Vault in the near future. This past October, Doug Hansford retired after a lifetime of employment here at Superior Vault.  Some of you may know that it was Doug's father Ken Hansford who founded our company way back in 1953.  We will miss the knowledge and experience that Doug brought to the company but we wish him well in whatever endeavors he looks to pursue in his retirement.

On a much sadder note we are currently missing two of our other long time employees due to severe illness.  Scotty and Darren, who have both worked for years at our Mississauga and Fenwick locations respectively are currently off work with different health issues. We wish them both a healthy recovery and hope to see them back with us sometime in the future.

With these changes to our personnel we have had to go our in search of several new employees all at once. So we hope that the new drivers you meet in the future continue to uphold the quality of service you have come to expect from Superior Vault.
  • Fall 2019 Update

    September 26, 2019
There is light at the end of the tunnel! At least that's what we hear with regard to out new building, it is (supposedly) in the final review process before the City of Hamilton. Why so long? Who knows, but hopefully by spring we'll begin to see construction being done.
In other news, many of our funeral homes are starting to take advantage on the personalization options we now provide.  There are a few examples shown here on the website but they are just a small amout of those we have done. We have also had an increase in Monument work as our reputation for quality and service grows.  We are also expanding our line of Urns and plan on putting more photos on the website shortly, contact our Mississauga office if you are interested in any of our products.
  • New Building Update and New Personalization Options

    November 16, 2018
So it appears that 2018 will pass and we will not be in our new building as we had hoped.  The good news is we finally have conditional approval from the City of Hamilton to apply for our building permit.  It's about 6 months later than we thought we would get it but such is life.  Needless to say we will not be started construction until the Spring as of this writing.

There is good news for those of you who have used our custom personalization services.  We can now produce the custom vinyl pictures in house, both the full size for our metals and smaller versions for all of our other products.  Now if your customers want their own pictures on Vaults or Urn Vaults we can provide that option.  We only have to ask that all photos be High Definition so that when we expand them in size it doesn't cause the image to blur.  For those of you who have not yet taken advantage of our personalization options now would be a good time to begin.  We still require the 48 hours notice for personalized pictures as they have to be printed on vinyl, have time to dry and then be affixed to the Vaults or Backing before they are sent to the cemeteries.
  • What Has Been Happening Recently.

    September 04, 2018
So we haven't had an update in a while so we'll catch you up on the latest news. We are still waiting on the building permits from the City of Hamilton to begin the construction of our new facility.  We are still hoping to move in sometime this winter but as of yet we have no firm date. On a positive note, everyone (thus far) loves our engraved brass nameplates for some of our urn vaults and wood urns as well as a couple we have done for caskets through the funeral homes. We plan on doing a few samples of these in the near future with different font types and posting them to our Cremation - Personalization section on this website.
Last but not least, a reminder to keep and eye out for the children out there as they head off for another school year.  In the business we are in the last thing we want is to see a child lost due to an inattentive driver. No phone call or text is worth a life.
  • Easter Update

    March 21, 2018
Spring is finally upon us bringing warmer weather and longer days. For us it means Spring Burials and clearing the backlog of Monument Installs. Soon we hope to have some of our Urns on display down in Fenwick though we will hold off at the main office until our new showroom is built at the new property in Waterdown. Due to some changes our supplier has made to their line of Cultured Marble Urns we will be making a new Catalogue to show the current line of Urns in the current range of colours.
We have been practising on our Engraving Machine for a couple of weeks now and have a few samples done up that we hope to add to our display so that we show several options for engraved fonts. Stay tuned as we may have pictures posted in the near future.
  • Engraving Machine has Arrived!

    February 05, 2018
Our Engraving Machine has officially arrived and is now in the process of being set up. Once we have been sufficiently trained in its use we will be able to start taking orders for engraving urns.  We should also be receiving in a shipment of our Georgian, Tuscany and Windsor Elite Urns within the next two weeks, one of each in every colour. Feel free to contact us if you would like samples for your display rooms.
  • Update on our latest offerings and New Building

    January 11, 2018
So we still hoping to be in our new building by the end of this year if everything continues to proceed smoothly. It is exciting to see the plans coming together and frustrating knowing we have to wait for each new stage of the project to move along.
For those down in the Niagara Region we now have new Monuments on display in our showroom in Fenwick (which the guys down there are constantly upgrading - thanks guys!). These are a little more on the fancy side but we are confident we can still offer these for a great value.
We have also purchased a new engraving machine so that we can soon begin to engrave Urns right on sight. It should be arriving in the next couple of weeks with another couple weeks of practice we should be up and running. Stay tuned here for more updates.
  • Opal and Opal Elite Urns Discontinued

    January 04, 2018
We have learned from our supplier that the Opal and Opal Elite Urns are no longer going to be produced.  We do have some left in stock in a few select colours for those who would still like to purchase one since they are such a nice size for niches. We have been told that at some future date these urns will be replaced with something similar that has a larger capacity.  In the meantime we can still get all of the other Cultured Marble Urns in all of the current available colours.
  • Best Wishes This Holiday Season

    December 21, 2017
For us here at Superior Vault this time of year has always been about giving. It is a time for us to say thank you to all the Funeral Home and Cemetery Staff who have been of invaluable assistance to us throughout this past year. We wish you all the best over the coming days as you spend time with Family and Friends. We know that in the funeral business we don't get as much time to spend at home as others do so that the time we do have is all the more precious. So all the best as we ring in the new year and best of luck in 2018.
  • Remembering Their Service

    October 31, 2017
Remember and Honour the sacrifice made by the men and women of the Canadian Armed Forces every November 11th by wearing a Poppy. It is not just those who fought during the Two World Wars that must be Honoured this Remembrance Day, but also those who served this Country at any point in its' history and especially those who continue to serve. In this ever changing world it is they who safeguard Canada's freedom.
